Priests and Youth Ministers

Dear Priests and Youth Ministers,

On behalf of Bishop Michael Driscoll and the Diocese of Boise, we are honored to invite you and the teens of your parish to the Idaho Catholic Youth Convention where Jesus is at the heart and center of the weekend.

This year’s theme, “Consumed” is taken from the Gospel for the 3rd Sunday of Lent - ICYC Weekend.  In this Gospel, Jesus enters the temple area where he drives out all the animals, owners and money changers, crying, "Take these things away; you shall not make my Father's house a house of trade".  His disciples remembered that it was written, "Zeal for thy house will consume me."

The ICYC planning committee discerned the theme, "Consumed" because it presents a specific challenge to all of us, especially our youth.  We are faced with so many distractions and temptations, and our lives are so busy that it is easy to become consumed by all the "stuff" in our lives.  Jesus, however, is inviting us to be "consumed" by Him - in the Eucharist, in our every thought and in our every action.  What do you consume?  What consumes you?

As priests and youth ministers, you are in the trenches every day of the week ministering to the hearts of the young people that God has called you to serve.  We know that ICYC is just one weekend of the year and yet, it is our deepest prayer that this convention will support the important work that you are doing and will be life-giving to you, your teens, and your youth ministry programs.

As the months and days countdown to March 6, 2015 please know that you and your young people will be in our prayers daily and may God bless you in all that you do to build up His Kingdom!

In Christ,
The ICYC Planning Committee,
Chris Kreslins, Lorissa and Johnny Horn, David O'Neill and Pat Thomas
